Requirements
A fresh Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux or Rocky server with root, the hostname, the ports, or just PHP 7.4 and MySQL for the Demo driver; the licence key and its account limit.
AIOhPanel is a web hosting control panel that you run on your own server. It looks and works the way every hosting user already expects. This chapter lists what the server must have before you start, and what you need if you only want to try the panel.
Two ways to run it
| Way | For | What it does to the machine |
|---|---|---|
Linux server with install.sh | Real hosting | Installs Apache, nginx, PHP-FPM, MariaDB, BIND, Postfix, Dovecot and Pure-FTPd, and manages them. |
| Demo driver on any PHP and MySQL host | Trying it, a demo site, development | Nothing. The panel keeps its own records and the account folders live under data/demo-home/. |
The two ways run the same code. Only the driver differs: the Linux driver changes the real services, the Demo driver pretends to. See Installing on a server and Trying it anywhere.
The server (real hosting)
| Needs | Why |
|---|---|
| A fresh server with root access | The installer sets up the whole stack. It stops if Hosting Panel is already there, because two panels cannot own one machine. |
| Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, Debian 12, AlmaLinux 8 or 9, Rocky Linux 8 or 9 | The tested systems. The installer checks /etc/os-release and refuses anything else. |
| 1 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB disk at least | The panel itself is light. Web sites, mail and databases are what use the rest. |
A fully qualified hostname such as server1.example.com | The installer, the wizard and the licence all use it. The name should resolve to the server's IP address. |
| Outgoing HTTPS | The panel talks to license.faruk.bd, downloads acme.sh and asks Let's Encrypt for certificates. |
| Open ports | See the table below. The installer opens them in ufw or firewalld if one is running. |
install.sh installs PHP itself. It uses the system PHP and, on Ubuntu, adds extra versions (7.4, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3) so that accounts can choose with PHP Versions. The panel runs best on PHP 8.1 or newer.
Ports
| Port | Use |
|---|---|
| 2086 / 2087 | Host Manager (the Host Manager side): plain and SSL. |
| 2082 / 2083 | Hosting panel (the Hosting Panel side): plain and SSL. |
| 2095 / 2096 | Webmail: plain and SSL. |
| 80 / 443 | The hosting accounts' web sites (Apache). |
| 21, 20 and 30000-35000 | FTP and its passive range. |
| 22 | SSH. |
| 25, 465, 587 | Mail sending (SMTP, SMTPS, submission). |
| 110, 995, 143, 993 | POP3 and IMAP, plain and SSL. |
| 53 (TCP and UDP) | DNS. |
The plain ports 2082, 2086 and 2095 only redirect to the SSL ports. The SSL ports use a self-signed certificate until Auto SSL issues a real one for the hostname, so the browser warns once.
Trying it anywhere (Demo driver)
You need a PHP and MySQL machine, nothing else. A Windows PC with XAMPP, Laragon or a plain PHP download works.
- PHP 7.4 or newer (8.1 or newer is best).
- MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+, and a user that may create a database.
- Required PHP extensions:
pdo_mysql,curl,json,mbstring,openssl,zip. - Recommended:
gd,fileinfo, posix. - The panel folder and its
data/folder must be writable. The wizard writesconfig.phpand createsdata/.
The wizard shows this same list as its first step, with a green or red mark on each line, and does not go on while something required is missing.
Browsers
The Host Manager, the hosting panel and Webmail work in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers and phones. The left menu folds on a narrow screen.
A licence key
Your AIOhPanel licence key looks like AIOP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and is in your account on license.faruk.bd. The key is tied to the server's hostname and sets how many hosting accounts the server may hold: 5 (Solo), 50 (Pro) or unlimited (Unlimited & All Plugins). The wizard asks for the key, and you may skip that step and enter it later. Without a key the panel lets you create one account to try things. Read The licence key before you buy, so you pick the right package.
